Jal Jeevan Mission - Assam
-
Objective
The objective of this project was to supply HDPE pipes (HDPE PE 100 PN 6) to the Nagaon district of Assam as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at providing drinking water to every household in the region. The main challenge was ensuring the timely supply of pipes within a limited timeframe.
-
Challenges
- Tight Delivery Timeline: The biggest challenge was meeting the strict supply deadline for the pipes, which required careful planning and execution to avoid delays. This was especially critical given the urgency of the drinking water project.
- Logistics in Remote Areas: Delivering the pipes to Nagaon, a relatively remote location in Assam, presented logistical difficulties. Coordinating transport across varying terrains and ensuring timely delivery were significant hurdles.
- Production and Quality Compliance: The pipes needed to meet the specific HDPE PE 100 PN 6 standard, which required precise production and thorough inspection to ensure the quality and compliance of each batch.
-
Solutions
- Focused Production Management: To meet the tight deadline, we streamlined production processes and ensured that production runs were prioritised to meet the required quantity. Close monitoring and management allowed for efficient output without compromising quality.
- Comprehensive Quality Checks: Regular and thorough inspections were conducted throughout production to guarantee the pipes met the necessary HDPE PE 100 PN 6 specifications. This ensured high-quality standards were maintained throughout the project.
- Efficient Logistics Coordination: The logistics team coordinated closely with local transportation partners to ensure smooth and timely delivery. Routes were planned strategically, and contingencies were put in place to handle any unexpected delays, ensuring no disruption in supply.

Conclution
Despite the logistical and production challenges, the project was successfully completed within the set timeline. The supply of HDPE pipes for the Jal Jeevan Mission in Nagaon, Assam, helped ensure that drinking water reached more households, demonstrating effective project management, timely execution, and commitment to quality.
