Reflective Noise Barrier Heading Reflective Noise Barrier

Reflective noise barriers made from polycarbonate sheets are a practical solution for controlling sound in various environments. These barriers are generally available in two forms: solid sheets and multiwall (hollow) sheets. Solid polycarbonate sheets are valued for their durability and provide greater sound insulation as the thickness increases, while multiwall sheets are lightweight and more economical, making them a cost-effective choice for basic noise reduction needs. Depending on the application, these sheets are manufactured in thicknesses ranging from 8 mm to 20 mm. Their performance typically falls within a sound transmission class of 18 dB to 26 dB, with an airborne sound insulation value of around 18 dB. In terms of cost, multiwall sheets sit at the lower end of the spectrum, whereas solid sheets become more expensive with increasing thickness. For projects requiring higher levels of noise control, thicker solid sheets can deliver sound reduction levels of up to 30 dB.
